Our Story

There had to be a better way to build.

OLO Builders inherited a problem that will sound familiar to many homebuilders.

After years of building homes through Lifestyle Homes in Cache Valley, Utah, Trent Cragun saw firsthand how difficult it was to grow a homebuilding company without allowing the business to consume him. More homes meant more complexity. More people. More decisions. More risk. And too often, growth came at the expense of margin, time, and quality of life.

Through his service on the national board of the National Association of Home Builders, Trent discovered that these challenges weren't unique to his company. Small, independent builders across the country were, and are facing many of the same constraints.

He couldn't change the industry. But he could change the way his company built.

That started with two questions:

How do you build homes with greater margin and shorter construction cycle times while still giving buyers the choices they want?

And how do you build more homes without adding so much complexity that the business eventually breaks under its own growth?

Those questions changed the direction of the company.

Trent assembled a team of experienced homebuilding professionals committed to challenging the conventional way homes were built. Together, they rigorously documented and refined proven processes. They developed award-winning, predesigned home plans engineered for efficiency without sacrificing the choices buyers value. And they invested in cutting-edge technology to connect every part of the building process.

But the breakthrough wasn't any one of those things.

It was bringing them all together.

Processes. Plans. Technology. People. Each designed to reinforce the others as part of one disciplined, repeatable homebuilding system.

We call it The OLO Way™.

Years of experience, refinement, and investment have gone into making the system better. It reduces unnecessary decisions, creates consistency, and gives builders greater visibility and control from the first interaction with a homebuyer through the completion of their home.

The result is a smarter way to build. You identify what the customer wants, and run it through The OLO Way™ system to build it – it’s that simple! Properly executing the system ensures good margins and shorter cycle times to build any home. You deliver an exceptional home again and again.

And perhaps most importantly, it gives builders something that's difficult to find in this industry:

A way to grow the business without letting the business own them.
